The Calaveras County fire broke out just before the Amador fire after a debris burn became unmanageable. Ironically the location of this fire was only two to three miles from the CAL FIRE Emergency Command Center on Mountain Ranch Rd. in San Andreas. CAL FIRE responded with four air tankers, two helicopters, two water tenders, a dozer and five ground teams including two truckloads of Sierra Conservation Center fire base camp inmates. Crews remained on both fires Saturday and continued checking for hot spots all weekend. The fire was 100 percent contained by 7:30pm.
