slide2slide4 A motorcyclist from the Roseville area came to Amador County for lunch Saturday but wound up in a helicopter headed for UC Davis. The male driver indicated that "something ran into the road" and he hit his breaks hard.  The motorcycle and its rider then somersaulted and landed in a ditch. The motorcycle then bounced about 50 feet down that ditch. The driver suffered fractures to the lower extremities and was flown out by helicopter. Later Saturday afternoon a  CHP officer was involved in a foot pursuit of a "possibly wanted suspect" when the suspect apparently resisted arrest. Both the CHP and the Amador Sheriff's Office put out an "Officer Needs Assistance" call. Shortly after the the call for help the CHP officer who was attempting the arrest had to use mace on the suspect.  The suspect was taken to the gas station on Silver Drive and medics flushed the mace off his face using a hose.  He was then taken to the hospital for evaluation.

Sunday was a wild day for the CHP and local emergency crews yesterday as CHP units traveled to opposite ends of the county responding to accident after accident. Sunday Morning a van lost control on NY Ranch Road and rolled over onto its wheels.  The driver apparently misjudged the curve and skidded across the oncoming lane and landed in a ditch. There were minor injuries but no one was transported to the hospital. Yesterday just before noon yesterday a station wagon was reported off of Hwy 88 down a ravine near Cooks Station. Responding emergency crews found the occupants uninjured. At 12:29 yesterday afternoon a Motorcycle was reported down Irish Hill Road in the Ione area. Ione Fire, Calfire CHP and medics responded to find a 50 year of male down. The motorcyclist was med-flighted to UCDavis Med Center by reach 2 with reported paralysis from his chest down.

slide7 Just after 1 pm emergency crews then responded to N. Inspiration Dr  and Cedar in the upcountry area. The driver of a car had left the roadway striking a power pole. Emergency crews from Battalion 10 fire reported that only the car was holding that pole up and PG&E crews were quickly dispatched. The accident was caused by a suspected drunk driver whom was uninjured. At 4:11 pm another accident was reported on Tabeaud Rd in Pine Grove. Just 3 minutes later another accident was reported on Hwy 88 at Irishtown Rd. The third serious motorcycle accident of the weekend was reported at 5:16 pm on Fiddletown Rd. The rider of the motorcycle was airlifted to a Valley hospital as well.
