Amador Co. Sheriff’s Department Makes An Internet Predator Arrest

On Wednesday November 30, the Amador County Sheriff’s Office received information regarding a possible sexual predator attempting to interact with children via the Internet.

slide11After conducting a preliminary investigation which included identifying and locating both the child and the adult, an Amador Superior Court Search Warrant for the suspect’s residence was authorized by Judge David Richmond on Monday December 4. On Monday December 4, 2006 Amador County Sheriff’s Investigators executed the search warrant at the residence located at 15929 Cedar Heights Drive North in Pioneer and arrested the suspect, Richard Phillip Davidson, 48, of Pioneer.

slide12Investigators located and seized two computers, compact disks and DVD’s, photographs, undeveloped film, cameras, video tapes, marijuana and a loaded .45 caliber pistol.  Davidson was arrested and booked at the Amador County Jail, charged with committing lewd acts on a fifteen year old child; oral copulation of a child under the age of sixteen, furnishing a controlled substance and being armed in the commission of a felony.  Davidson’s bail was set at $100,000.00 .

slide14The Amador County Sheriff’s Office along with many local, state and federal government agencies have been warning citizens to be vigilant of possible internet predators. The Amador County Sheriff’s Office encourages parents to supervise their children’s internet activities and notify law enforcement in your jurisdiction should you become aware of predatory activity.
