A Lodi area murder plot ended with the discovery of the victim early this morning- the body was found over the steep hillside of Defender Grade Rd. in Pioneer.

slide4The discovery was made after a high speed chase of the Lodi murder suspect David Angelo Paradiso. Paradiso is on parole through the Stockton Parole Office. According to a press release from the Lodi Police Department on December 4th at approximately 8:00 pm a woman came to the Lodi Police Department and reported that her son, David Paradiso, murdered his girlfriend in the 400 block of W. Oak Street in Lodi. According to Lodi police, while his mother was driving through a quiet Lodi back alley on Monday, the 26-year-old Stockton man stabbed to death his girlfriend in the back seat, then ordered his mother to drive him into Amador County to dump the body.

Paradiso and his mother drove from the Lodi area to Pioneer and the victim was placed in an area just off of Defender Grade Road.  The suspect and his mother then returned to Lodi, at which time the suspect took his mother’s car, a 2005 Chrysler 300, and said he was leaving the area. At approximately 12:45 am the Rio Vista Police Dept., Isleton Police Dept., and the California Highway Patrol located the suspect while he was driving on Highway 12.  The officers from the three agencies attempted to stop Paradiso, however, he failed to stop and a pursuit ensued.  Paradiso led the officers west bound on Highway 12 at speeds in excess of 100 mph. The pursuit continued to Highway 88 near Alpine Rd. (just east of Stockton) when the suspects’ tire blew. The suspect pulled over and was taken into custody.

The suspect directed Lodi Police detectives to the area where he had placed the victim’s body. The suspect’s mother is being treated as a kidnap victim, kidnapped by her own son to dispose of his girlfriend’s body. The victim was located and detectives were on scene all day yesterday processing evidence. The victim’s name has been withheld pending family notification. Paradiso is charged with murder, kidnapping, vehicle theft and violating his parole.  Members of the public with information on this case should contact Detective Eric Bradley at 209-333-6870, or can remain anonymous by calling Lodi Area Crimestoppers at 209-333-6771.
