Car Stolen From Sutter Creek Recovered

A car stolen out of Sutter Creek was recovered by the California Highway Patrol off Defender Grade early yesterday morning.

The Chevy Sebring was reported stolen on Monday morning. According to the California Highway patrol report written by Officer Pat Ong, The car had been taken sometime after 2 am and was then driven upcountry by an unknown suspect. The car was found after it was wrecked on Defender Grade by the suspect who was apparently traveling eastbound on Hwy 26/Defender Grade when he or she decided to turn onto Joyce Rd. The driver lost control of the vehicle and ran off of the side of Defender Grade/Hwy 26, hit a tree and slid sideways down an embankment. The suspected thief then fled the scene and is still at large this morning. If you have any information regarding this crime please call the California Highway Patrol Amador Unit at 223-4890.
