The trapped driver told the 911 dispatcher that he could hear the sirens but it seemed they kept driving past him. He then decided to honk his horn in an attempt to lead the emergency crews to his location. Emergency crews were able to locate the accident at the east end of the Mondani’s Ranch. The driver was trapped in his vehicle 20 feet down an embankment off the side of the road. A witness on scene said in order to extricate the driver from the vehicle and then transport him up the hill in a stretcher it took at least 10 emergency responders. The solo car collision is under investigation by the California Highway Patrol.

Emergency Crews Search For Trapped Driver Who Was Unsure Of Their Location
Written by
Yesterday an accident occurred trapping the
driver inside the vehicle in the area of Hwy. 88 and Jackson Valley Road. The driver who called
911 was unsure of his exact location and because his vehicle had traveled off the
road and down a steep embankment the vehicle was not visible from the
roadway. The driver said he was surrounded
by willow trees so responding emergency crews searched the area with that in
mind, but still had a hard time locating the accident.
