Road Rage Incident Leads To Arrest of One Man For Entirely Different Crime
Written by
A road rage incident ended with
the suspect getting arrested for an entirely different crime yesterday mid
morning. According to
Under Sheriff Jim Wegner a woman was driving down Ridge Road in her mini van when
an unidentified suspect in a truck was following close behind. The woman pulled
over to allow the man to pass, but the suspect instead pulled over and
exchanged words with the woman. Wegner indicated that the woman felt
threatened by the suspects contact, but they parted ways and she went on her
way to Lowe’s. In the Lowe’s parking lot as she was getting her child out of
the mini van the man entered the parking lot and parked near her.
The woman immediately says
she will call the cops and the subject said something along the lines of “your
not worth it” and continued into the Lowe’s Store. The woman called the
Sheriff’s Office and Deputies responded to the scene quickly. Deputies began by searching the
store and attempted to contact the suspect over the PA system, but there was no
response. As a deputy was exiting the store the man walks by and reveals
that he is the suspect, and the deputy proceeds to initiate conversation about
the incident as they make their way back to the suspect’s vehicle. There the man threw his bag of
purchases on the truck seat and then proceeded to reach in his pocket and pull
out a box which he puts under the seat. The Deputy asks about the box
and it is revealed that the suspect had stolen the item from Lowe’s. The deputies on scene detained
him and arrested the man for theft, possession of stolen property and
obstruction. Wegner said the woman is considering prosecution as well for the
man’s actions. We hope to have an identification of the suspect by noon.
