Accident On Sutter Creek Volcano Road Sends Two To SAH & One To Sutter Roseville
Written by
Yesterday at approximately 1pm an accident was reported
on Sutter Creek Volcano road across from Pine Gulch Court. The accident was described by the
person who called it in as severe. A helicopter as well as an ambulance was
immediately called in for what was now revealed as a 2 vehicle accident.
Shortly there after a second ambulance was called in to help accommodate 3
injured people.
According to the investigating officer on scene,
Officer Drake Wilburn, the
teen driver of the white Chevy pickup truck was westbound on Sutter Creek
Volcano Road. While negotiating a right hand curve the back end of the vehicle
began to fish tail and the vehicle entered the opposing lane of traffic. A blue Buick in the east
bound lane saw the white pickup and swerved to the shoulder of the road in an
attempt to avoid a collision, but it was too late and the rear of the pickup struck
the front of the Buick. The Chevy pickup suddenly went air born hitting a tree
and then deflecting back onto the roadway landing in the roadway. The passenger of the pickup truck identified only as a 16 or 17 year
old male was air lifted from Westover field to Sutter Roseville hospital.
Officer Wilburn indicated that it appears the teen was air lifted for
precautionary reasons. The driver and passenger of the
Buick were transported to SAH with minor injuries. CHP is conducting an
investigation of the accident and we hope to have the full report sometime today.
