On Saturday morning at 9:40am a motorcycle collision occurred on Fiddletown road. According to Officer Craig Zaragoza’s report a motorcyclist was driving their 2006 Honda eastbound on Fiddletown road when he entered a right hand curve in the roadway. The man lost control of the motorcycle and struck the hillside on the north side of the road. The man, unidentified and from Davis suffered moderate injuries and was transported to SAH.
On Sunday a more serious accident occurred on Hwy. 88 with a motorcycle vs. vehicle accident. Officer Melissa Scobee’s report indicates that Todd Novello, 35 of San Jose was driving his 2005 Kawasaki west bound on Hwy. 88 east of San Joaquin county line at a high rate of speed. 49 year old Kimberly Johnson of Minden Nevada was driving her 1989 Van west bound on Hwy. 88 a few cars ahead of Novello. Novello began to pass a vehicle on the left side and attempted to move back into the westbound lane to avoid oncoming traffic. Due to his high rate of speed was unable to move back into the west bound lane before colliding into the rear of Johnson’s van. The impact caused Novello to be ejected from his Kawasaki, while the motorcycle continued in a south easterly direction off the south side of the roadway edge. Novello suffered from a fractured right ankle.
