Park Restoration Update

Dear Amador County,

I’d like to thank those who have supported the restoration of the Catholic Cemetery thus far and for the generous donations we’ve received.  Continued donations are greatly appreciated and directly affect the restoration project by helping us to progress further.  I encourage all members of the community to come by the cemetery to see how great it’s beginning to look, and witness the transformation for yourself.  Future projects here at the cemetery include repairs to the custom fencing that surrounds the property, and repaving the area by next spring.

This project has been extremely rewarding and it feels great to take part in improving our much-loved community. The Jackson Rancheria Band of Miwuk Indians are proud to reside in Amador County, and truly appreciate the support of the many wonderful people who reside here with us.

For additional information on the park restoration project, feel free to contact the committee at (209) 223-8405.

May Grandfather be with you all.

Adam Dalton

JACKSON, CA- Jackson Rancheria Casino Resort welcomes back Rock Blues Icon Robert Cray to the Grand Oak Ballroom Stage on Thursday, December 11 at 7 p.m.

The five-time Grammy Award winner has had an astonishing four-decade career as an American Blues Artist. Mostly self-taught, Cray learned how to play the guitar at a young age and was first inspired by the legendary artists like George Harrison, Jimi Hendrix, B.B. King, and Albert Collins. Since the Robert Cray Band was established in the early 1970’s, Cray has released sixteen Billboard charting studio albums.

In April 2011, Rolling Stone Magazine credited Robert Cray with reinventing blues with “his distinct razor sharp guitar playing” that “introduced a new generation of mainstream rock fans to the language and form of blues.” Shortly after, Cray was inducted into the Blues Hall of Fame at the age of 57. The Robert Cray Band has opened, performed, and collaborated with many artists, including Eric Clapton, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Bonnie Raitt, and John Lee Hooker!

Will Call opens at 5 p.m., doors open at 6 p.m. and the show begins at 7 p.m.

On Saturday evening, at 6 pm is the “Las Posadas Candlelight Walk”. One of the most touching events to participate in or just watch. The public is invited to be a part of this beautiful reenactment of Joseph and Mary’s journey to Bethlehem. The parade will begin at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church on Spanish Street where Mary will mount a donkey and she and Joseph will process down beautiful, historic Spanish Street, lined with flickering luminaries, then on to Main Street, Sutter Creek. Narrators will retell the familiar story and Musicians will lead in singing familiar Christmas carols that everyone is urged to join in and sing along. This is truly a heart warming experience for all ages, the "Las Posadas Candlelight Walk" will be an evening you will cherish forever. Dress warm so you can enjoy the entire evening!  Following Las Posadas, there will be hot beverages and cookies available at the social hall of the Methodist Church.
