Jackson Announces Flag Contest

slide6The City of Jackson will be entertaining entries for the design of the new city flag. This contest is open to all residents of the City of Jackson, regardless of age. The City is looking for creativity so designs may be modern or historical in nature, but should be of significance in representing the City of Jackson. Designs can be hand drawn or computer generated but they must be original, created by the contestant.

Current City logos may be incorporated into the design but are not required. DO NOT USE YOUR NAME OR INITIALS ON YOUR ENTRY. When submitted to the City of Jackson, all entries must have attached, in some manner, a sealed envelope containing the name, address and telephone number of the contestant. When received, the entries and the envelopes will be left in the care of the City Clerk and the sealed envelopes will not be opened until the contest is over and the selection of the winner has been made by the judges. The drawing and explanations must not contain any personal identifying marks of any kind.

The winning entry will be awarded an original flag (display size) of their design. The decision of the City Council will be final. The design selected by the City Council may be modified for reproduction by the flag company producing the flags. The ENTRY DEADLINE is Friday, September 28, 2007 at 5:00 p.m. You can mail or deliver your entry to City of Jackson Flag Contest, 33 Broadway, Jackson, CA 95642.  Relatives of judges are not eligible to participate. The winner will be selected at the City Council meeting on Tuesday, October 9, 2007.  For additional information, please contact Gisele Cangelosi, City Clerk, at 223-1646.
