CHP Reports Several Weekend Accidents
The Amador Unit of the California Highway Patrol
is reporting several collisions over the weekend. Saturday afternoon Officer
Brian Hagemann responded to a
solo vehicle collision on Jackson
Valley Rd just south of Hwy 88. Officer
Hagemann’s report states that 18 year old Destinee Wiggins of Valley Springs
was northbound on Jackson
Valley rd when she
entered a sharp curve. She drove into the opposing lane and then overcorrected
running off of the roadway, overturning and striking a fence. She was not
injured in the collision.
Early Sunday morning Officer Craig Zaragoza was called to the scene of an
abandoned car that had crashed on Stoney
Creek Rd just east of the Pardee entrance.
Officer Zaragoza identified the car as a 1988 Nissan and stated that the interior
of the car “reeked” of alcohol. The investigation into this crash is ongoing.
Officer Hagemann was once again called to a collision scene on Sunday when a 20
year old Yuba City
man drifted off of the roadway and then overcorrected sending his 2007 Nissan
off of the roadway and into an embankment. The driver, Meng Huor,was uninjured.
Officer Mike LeMasters reports
yet another single vehicle collision on Camanche Parkway north of Coal Mine Rd on
Sunday. Officer LeMaster’s report states that 19 year old Michelle
Rosas, of Ione, was driving a 2001 Toyota
on Camanche Parkway
when she realized she was going to fast for the roadwaty. She hit her brakes
while in the cirve spinning off of the roadway, traveling down an embankment
and through a fence. She was also uninjured.
