Lone Oak Estates Project Denied
A plan to build 10 homes on 12 acres in Lake Camanche
Village ended Tuesday
when the Amador County Board of Supervisors denied an appeal by the Lone Oak
Estates applicant. The
Planning Commission had denied the application to subdivide the parcel because
there is not adequate sewer service in the area, and because project roads did
not provide sufficient emergency access.
Lone Oak
Estates owner Ryan Voorhees appealed the ruling, asking the Supervisors to put
the project on hold until wastewater hook-ups were available and road issues
were resolved. Lake
Camanche Village
neighbors of the proposed project presented a petition of signatures urging the
Supervisors to deny the appeal – and the Supervisors agreed, voting
unanimously. Supervisor Richard Forster noted that the project could be
resubmitted in the future, but would need to start the application process at
the beginning and be subject to any new requirements or fees that may come into
effect in the meantime.
