Marijuana Garden New York Ranch Rd, Jackson

slide8The Amador County Sheriff’s Office says there is success in its efforts to investigate and eradicate illegal marijuana growers in Amador County, with over 42-hundred pot plants destroyed in two recent operations. On Tuesday, the Amador County Sheriff’s Office searched a property located at 11656 New York Ranch Road in Jackson. A garden of 1440 marijuana plants was found in a wooded area, complete with water lines running from a nearby home to the marijuana plants.
Sheriffs surprised two suspects who were tending the marijuana plants and arrested both without incident. Two Fresno men were booked into the Amador County Jail charged with cultivation of marijuana, possession of marijuana for sale and conspiracy. Sheriff investigators reported that the suspects apparently had been hired to stay at the residence, cultivate and harvest the marijuana plants. The investigation is continuing. Earlier this month, a joint operation of Amador County Sheriff, the California Department of Justice CAMP program, and the Bureau of Land Management destroyed 2796 marijuana plants cultivated on public lands on Russell Creek outside of Volcano. This site consisted of four separate cultivation areas, one campsite and one processing area. The marijuana plants and other evidence at the site were removed from the remote area by CAMP helicopter. Investigation is pending results from the analysis of physical evidence located at the scene.
