More Details on the Attempted Liquor Store Robbery Upcountry
More details on the attempted robbery of
Buckhorn Liquor Store this weekend. On Sunday about 5 pm, the Amador County Sheriff’s Office
received a 911 emergency call reporting an attempted armed robbery at Buckhorn
Liquor, in Pioneer. Upon arrival, deputies found Joseph
Todisco being detained by citizens. Upon investigating the incident it was
determined that Todisco had spent several hours that day at and around the
liquor store.
During the day, Todisco made one small purchase
and then later that afternoon he attempted to cash a check, which was denied.
Todisco returned several hours later and confronted the two employees that were
working. Todisco demanded all of the money from the cash register. Todisco then
reached towards his back and stated that he had a 9 mm pistol. A patron in the liquor store
observed this occurring and intervened by tackling Todisco. The citizen detained Todisco until
the deputies arrived. Todisco was not in possession of any weapons.
Todisco denied any wrongdoing. Joseph Caesar Todisco Jr., 42, was arrested and
charged with attempted robbery.
