Nearly a foot of snow has already fallen on some areas of the Sierra, with snow levels as low as 4000 feet. Gusty winds and the snow have already resulted in reports of occasional whiteout conditions. A gale warning also is in effect. The Sacramento Municipal Utility District reported that nearly 800 customers were briefly without power in south Sacramento, but all power was restored. Power was also out for 1,100 PG&E customers in Yolo County and two hundred residents in Nevada County were without power for much of the weekend. In Amador County, reports of power outages and some downed trees came from across the county. Stormy conditions are expected in the Sierras through Monday. In the mountains, the storm could drop from one to three feet of snow above 7,000 feet.
