CSRCD’s Community Forums
The Central Sierra Resource Conservation and
Development Council, or CSRCD, will
be conducting a series of community forums to verify local resource concerns
and opportunities. Organizations and individuals are encouraged to
attend the forums and be heard on projects to improve their community.
The CSRCD says its
program goals include healthy watersheds, reducing hazards from wildfire and
floods, and promoting a healthy economy through stimulating nature
and historical tourism in the local area. Projects under consideration include
watershed and wildfire defensible space inventories, historic adobe
restoration, marketing of locally grass fed beef, and area guides to stimulate
tourism and economic growth. Upcoming forums will be held in the following communities: March 21st
in Sonora, May 17th in Pine Grove, July 19th in
Markleeville, September 18th in Mono County, and November 20th
in Calaveras County. For
more information on the program or attending the workshops, contact their main
office in Jackson at 257-1851.
