Another agreement for extension in the negotiations between the Buena
Vista Band of Me-Wuk Indians and Amador
County
has been reached.
Late yesterday afternoon Amador County
released a press release stating that the tribe and the county had agreed to
extend the negotiations
period over mitigations for the impacts of the proposed Flying Cloud casino
until either of the two parties gives a 7 day written notice to the other party
that they wish to terminate negotiations. In any event, both sides
agreed no terminations shall occur before August 10th 2007. The
initial deadline for the negotiations under the Compact with the state was July
11th. Both sides then agreed to a 30 day extension which has now
been once again extended.
