School Starts Today: Some Changes that Could Impact Your Day
Written by
The Amador County Unified School District begins
the 2007-2008 school year today. Last minute preparations continued all weekend
with paving and asphalt projects continuing at schools around the district.
There are a few projects, however, that are
incomplete, and will impact your morning and afternoon drop off and pick ups
today. Friday the district utilized it automatic dialer/caller system to let
parents know- but here’s a reminder just incase you missed the announcement.
For parents and students accessing Sutter Creek Elementary and Amador High School you must use the Spanish
Street entrance near the Days Inn off of Old Highway 49. There is no
access off of the new Bypass and down Sutter Ione Rd due to the realignment
project for Sutter Ione Rd. The Sutter Creek Police will be providing traffic
control in the area. For 7th and 8th grade students at
Ione Jr High school will now
begin at 8:30 am and students will be dismissed at 2:45 pm. Pioneer Elementary also has a new
bell schedule. School now starts at 7:50 am with dismissal moved up to 1:50 pm.
Please remember to allow extra time this morning whether you are transporting
children to the bus or school- or are just driving through the county.
