On May 16, 2006 Title 19 of the Amador County Code was amended to
include regulations pertaining to sea-land storage containers in order to
encourage appropriate locations and uses for such containers and protect the
visual quality of the County.
Within the last year, however, existing and
potential situations have surfaced; demonstrating a need for review and/or
possible amendment of the sea-land container ordinance. On May 22, 2007 the
Board of Supervisor adopted
a Resolution of Intention to initiate the proceedings to consider amending
Section 19.48.160 (Sea-Land Containers).
This matter has proven to be of great interest to the community;
therefore the Board of Supervisors has scheduled two joint public workshop
sessions with the Planning Commission to provide the public the opportunity to
voice their concerns and possible solutions to the issues of the use of
sea-land storage containers. These two sessions will be held on Tuesday, September 25, 2007 at the
following times and locations: Afternoon Session, 2:30 pm until 4:30 p.m. and
Evening Session 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. The Board of Supervisors
invites any and all interested person to attend and participate in these
workshops. If you are unable to attend
you may submit written comments to the Board of Supervisors, 810 Court Street, Jackson, CA 95642.
