slide4.pngThe Supervisor’s race is heating up, and each candidate is hoping that their unique contributions to local government will make them a frontrunner. Incumbents Richard Forster and Louis Boitano are both looking to hold their seats on the Board. Supervisor Forster, whose seat is uncontested, says he is running for several reasons, one of which is to “work against the efforts of outside forces to locate Indian gaming illegally in Amador County.”

Boitano, who is up against David Pincus, a local Certified Mortgage Planner, firmly believes in Amador County’s quality of life and preserving our heritage when he says, our “future is in our past.” Mr. Pincus says he is running for Supervisor “to insure that Amador County begins to make appropriate investments in public safety and infrastructure, and to provide a serious leadership role in the planning and economic development of our county.”

Three candidates filed to run for the District 1 seat, which is being vacated by Richard Escamilla. Candidate and Jackson Mayor Rosalie Pryor Escamilla, says “In this day and age, information is cheap. It’s not what you know that counts, but rather, what solutions you can come up with under pressure.” Another District 1 Candidate, John Gonsalves, says he pledges to be “fiscally responsible and always listen and be available to you.” The third District 1 Candidate, John Plasse, says “my primary goal would be to preserve and protect the unique characteristics and qualities of Amador County that represent the very reasons why our people have chosen to make this place our home.”
