area? The Amador Local Agency
Formation Commission (LAFCO) will be appointing a new Alternate Public Member
to a 4-year term, running from January 2007 to February 2011. Applicants
must be a resident and registered voter in Amador County and cannot be a city,
district or County official of any public agency within Amador County. Those
seated on LAFCO are subject to the Fair Political Practices Act and must file
an annual conflict of interest statement.
Under state law, LAFCO is mandated to ensure the
logical formation and determination of the local government agency boundaries,
which affect growth and development patterns, delivery of urban services, and
agricultural and open space lands within Amador County. Regular meetings are on the third Thursday at 7:00 p.m. This notice
re-opens the application period. If you wish to be considered for the Public
Member Alternate position on LAFCO, please submit a letter of interest and your
qualifications. Please submit

considered, applications must be received no later than 5:00 PM, April 6, 2007.
