slide38John Wadsworth has been ordered to appear for felony sentencing at 10am this Wednesday morning. The ordeal began on September 19th when Amador High School was placed under lock down due to an angry parent who was thought to be armed and dangerous. Apparently 34 year old Wadsworth left his home in Ione when he learned that the Child Protective Services were questioning his children in regards to an Ione Police Department domestic violence case involving both their mother and Wadsworth.

slide38 Wadsworth led the Ione Police Department on a chase on his Motorcycle from Ione to Amador High School. Officers and Deputies from the Jackson PD, Amador County Sheriff’s Department, and Amador CHP also responded to Amador High School to look for Wadsworth. Upon Wadsworth arrival to Amador’s Campus both the high school and Sutter Creek Elementary were put on lock down. Wadsworth refused to orders numerous times to get on the ground and was subsequently shot twice with a taser gun and taken into custody. Apparently at the time of his arrest Wadsworth was wanted by the Ione Police Department for Domestic Violence and Terrorist Threat charges.

DA Todd Riebe, in September,  charged Wadsworth with several felony counts including making criminal threats toward his mother, repeatedly threatening to kill his wife, possession of firearms by a convicted felon, as well as threats directed towards his children. The final count cited in that motion was a misdemeanor count for concealing evidence: as it was alleged that Wadsworth attempted to conceal a baggie of white powder in a plastic bag from police.
