East Bay MUD Directors Give Park Camanche Residents OK To Stay
The East Bay Municipal Utility District Board of
Directors has agreed to remove
consideration from their update of a new Mokelumne Watershed Master Plan that
mobile home owners will be evicted. The utility’s Board of Directors met
yesterday and heard the options for the updated watershed plan which originally
contained the option of evicting the mobile home residents.

District Attorney's Workman's Comp Fraud Unit Makes National Headlines
The Worker’s Compensation
Fraud Unit headed by the
Amador County District attorney’s office is making National headlines
for a worker’s compensation case with a twist. This case is not your typical
employee claiming an on the job injury. This case involved two managers accused of discouraging employees
from reporting actual on the job claims.

Report of Car in Lake gets Rapid Response
Law enforcement and emergency personnel raced to
the scene of a vehicle reported in the water near the Camanche Gun Club Sunday
afternoon. The first Amador County Sheriff’s Deputy on scene reported that the vehicle was
located down a 150 foot embankment in the water. CalFire Camino dispatch
called for help from a Reach helicopter- and Jackson Valley fire and rescue
personnel, CalFire, and CHP all headed to the scene. Once the deputy was able to reach the vehicle it was
evident that the vehicle was unoccupied and apparently registered to a man out
of Lodi. No word yet on how the vehicle ended up in Camanche although an
investigation is pending

Three Juveniles Interviewed For Pellet/BB Gun Shots
Sunday just after noon reports of BB or pellet gun fire hitting cars off
of Hwy 26 about a mile up from Hwy 88 were reported to CHP Stockton dispatch.

Dome Fire 80% Contained
A fire broke out Friday afternoon near the
Amador Calaveras County line southwest of Salt Springs reservoir. The fire,
called the Dome fire, burned
in a remote area of Calaveras County with no structures or occupied areas
threatened. According to CAL Fire 13 state and three federal engines were on scene, with
several local Amador County fire departments also responding.

School Starts Today: Some Changes that Could Impact Your Day
The Amador County Unified School District begins
the 2007-2008 school year today. Last minute preparations continued all weekend
with paving and asphalt projects continuing at schools around the district.
